Our last community of practice before the summer break, for a chance to make connections and develop peer support and learning opportunities, hear examples of community-led research across the Highlands & Islands, reflect on sector wide issues individually and collectively, help shape the network and have open discussions about topics that come up on the day.
Engaged Futures is an initiative from the National Coordinating Centre for Public Engagement (NCCPE) to collectively imagine futures for higher education in the UK and identify actions that can lead us there. With this in mind, in this CoP we will be imagining the futures for the university sector and the research ecosystem to collectively contribute to this consultation from our specific perspectives of how communities can drive and lead research further, and the value of lived experiences and creative methodologies.
What universities and research of 2045 might look like? What will society and communities need or want from universities in the next decades? How can knowledge be built openly and inclusively? What the role and position of higher education and communities in knowledge production might be? And what actions could help us realise these futures?
