Conversation Station with FoodSEqual

This episode will feature the work, reflections and learning from community food researchers who have been engaged by FoodSEqual over the past four years.

FoodSEqual was funded by UKRI and aim to co-produce changes to the food system which will work better for low-income communities, with people who are connected to those communities. As part of this, FoodSEqual employed, trained, and supported people to become Community Food Researchers and co-deliver research in their communities.

As the project entered its final year the Community Food Researchers were invited to collate their experiences and learning from undertaking the role to form a handbook as a resource for others in the future who may be new to a community research role, or curious about it. View the handbook here.

In this presentation, Community Food Researchers Vandy Butcher and Patricia Douglin will share some of the methods they used to research diet inequalities in their community in Reading (UK), what happened and what they learnt about co-delivering community research. They will also share and discuss the handbook.
