This session will feature the work, reflections, and key learnings from OPEN, Shetland’s first youth-led charity, and their extensive experience in leading peer and youth-led research.
Join Shannon Boston from OPEN to hear insights from their journey so far, alongside her personal learnings from conducting young people-led research.
Since 2021, OPEN has delivered numerous peer research projects involving hundreds of young people. Today, four young people hold paid peer research roles, and 19 have volunteered as core peer researchers. Looking ahead, OPEN is particularly focused on how to translate peer research into meaningful action.

All are welcome, whether you're a network member or just interested in community-led research, peer research and/or youth-led research.

OPEN is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO). OPEN Board of Trustees are all aged 16-29 and are responsible for the governance of the organisation, they meet monthly to lead on the strategic direction and overview of OPEN 's Projects.
